CODES AND CONVENTIONS OF POST CARD

    These postcards are meant to promote both mainstream and independent movies. These will be distributed widely to advertise the movie and, presumably, reach its target audience by being distributed in strategic locations. For instance, since skateboarders make up the majority of my audience, a skate park or a skate shop would be a suitable location. Moreover, postcards are distributed there because some guests choose to preserve them as mementos of the occasion.  A Film postcard should have all the basic information.
    Title of the short film / documentary
  • Director
  • Producers
  • Nominations for any film festival or awards
  • URL or website
    A succinct summary that encourages the reader to watch the movie and, once more, is targeted to the audience.
Moreover, colours that stand out, are easy to read, engage the viewer, and adhere to the documentary's general topic should be employed. For instance, a horror movie would use darker colours to convey its mood.
